 Wilkin County Fair – Kids Day with the Children’s Discovery Center

 When: Thursday, August 22 • 1–4 PM

 Where: Wilkin County Fairgrounds – Inside the Commercial Building

We’re bringing the BIG KID energy to the Wilkin County Fair!

This year, we’re teaming up with two awesome local industries—Bobcat and Cargill—and their INCREDIBLE STEM teams to host a special afternoon geared for older youth who want to explore science and technology.

 What’s in the mix:

 -Robots – take the controls, code them, and make them move like you own the place

 -Reactive Art – make wild creations that bubble, fizz, and change right in front of you

 -STEM Challenges – hands-on experiments and tech powered by Bobcat & Cargill

 The Children’s Discovery Center is an emerging children’s museum—we’re not open yet, but we’re in our capital campaign to make it happen! Until our doors open, we’re offering FREE monthly programming for youth of all ages.

Our future facility will feature two main areas:

 Discovery Play Center– for children from birth to age 10, with imaginative, hands-on exhibits that spark curiosity and creativity.

 Discovery STEM Lab – for kids 9 and up who are excited about coding, STEM, and science opportunities. This space will give big kids a safe place to play, explore, and learn while building real-world skills.

We’re excited to keep partnering with local industry leaders like Cargill and Bobcat (and many more) to bring camps, hands-on learning, and career exploration opportunities to rural youth.

Because RURAL KIDS ROCK—and at the Children’s Discovery Center, we believe in empowering every rural youth to dream big and reach far!
