So Much Good Is Happening… Even If We’ve Been a Little Quiet

If you’ve noticed we’ve been a little behind on posting lately, you’re not wrong. But it’s for a really good reason…

There has been so much happening behind the scenes (and right in front of us), and we’ve been soaking up every moment of it. From pre-construction work and design to fundraising efforts and hosting free pop-ups for area youth and families, these past couple of months have been full, in the very best way.

We’ve had some incredible opportunities to bring play into our community, and it’s been nothing short of inspiring. From our free pop-up events at the museum space to celebrating special moments like the Week of the Young Child, we’ve watched kids dive into creativity, explore new ideas, and simply enjoy being kids. And honestly, that’s what this is all about.

One of the most special parts has been welcoming local daycares and preschool classes into the space. Seeing little ones walk in with curiosity and leave with big smiles (and a lot of times, not wanting to leave at all!) reminds us exactly why this project matters. These moments, of imagination, connection, and joy are what we’re working to create every single day.

None of this would be possible without the people who continue to show up and believe in this vision.

A huge thank you to our amazing coordinator, Morgan Schuler, along with all of the organizers, volunteers, educators, and community members who have poured their time, energy, and heart into making these experiences happen. This project truly belongs to the community, and it shows.

As we continue building momentum toward opening the Children’s Discovery Center, we’re committed to keeping these free pop-up play opportunities available. Not only do they give families something fun and meaningful to do together, they also offer a little sneak peek into just how special a children’s museum can be.

This space we’re creating is more than a place to play. It’s a place where kids can explore art, science, nature, culture, agriculture, and the world around them. A place where families connect. A place that will bring energy, life, and opportunity to our entire community.

And the best part?

We’re just getting started.

We can’t wait to share what’s next. 💛
